Golfers running it for golfers.About us

We started Major Golf Giveaways because we were tired of competition sites that hid the odds, handed you a random number and went quiet the moment the draw was over.

Why we exist

A fair draw, in plain sight.

Most of us have bought a ticket in a prize competition and felt slightly silly afterwards. You never saw how many tickets existed. You never got to choose your number. You never found out whether the draw actually happened, or who won, or whether they were paid.

We are golfers, and we buy kit we probably cannot justify. A competition is a decent way to have a shot at a driver that costs more than a week away. But only if it is run properly.

So we built the site we wanted to enter. Every competition shows the total number of tickets and how many are left, before you pay. You pick your own numbers from what is still available. Every draw is streamed live and the recording stays up. Every winner is published with their ticket number, and the full entry list goes out after the draw so anyone can check their number was in the hat.

There is a cash alternative on every prize, because not everyone wants a bag of clubs delivered to a flat. And there is a free postal entry route on every competition, with exactly the same odds as a paid ticket, because that is how a prize competition is supposed to work.

Our promises

Six things we will never do.

Not marketing lines. These are the rules we run the site by, and you can hold us to every one.

01 Hide how many tickets there are

The total and the number remaining are on every competition page, before you spend anything.

02 Draw without you watching

Every draw is live on Facebook and Instagram, using a verified random number generator, and the recording stays online.

03 Go quiet after a draw

The winning ticket, the winner's first name and county, and the recording are published on the draw results page within an hour.

04 Make winners chase us

We contact the winner, and prizes or cash alternatives are settled within seven days of the draw.

05 Charge for the only way in

Every competition has a free postal entry route with identical odds. It is on the product page, not buried in the terms.

06 Pretend this is an investment

It is a flutter on golf kit. We publish the odds, we cap tickets per person, and we would rather you entered once and enjoyed it.

How a draw is run

Nothing clever, nothing hidden.

See past draws
1Entries close

The competition closes at the published time, whether or not every ticket has gone. Nothing is added after that point.

2The list is locked

The full entry list is exported and timestamped before the draw, and published afterwards so you can find your number on it.

3The number is drawn live

On camera, using a verified random number generator seeded in view, at 8pm on a Thursday.

4The winner is paid

We make contact the same evening. Prize or cash alternative, settled within seven days.

Competitions on this site are prize competitions requiring a demonstration of skill, judgement or knowledge, with a free entry route available on every one. They are not lotteries and we do not hold a gambling licence. Full detail is in the terms and conditions and the responsible play page.
